Sparebanken Sør Artist Prize

23 September - 13 November

Welcome to the opening of the exhibition with works by the four nominees for Sparebanken Sør Artist Prize 2016.

The four artists shortlisted by the museum for the prize are Marte Gunnufsen (b. 1980), Ove Kvavik (b. 1985), Linn Pedersen (b. 1982) and Signe Solberg (b. 1985).

The prize was established in order to present and promote contemporary art in Sørlandet, and to give recognition to the region’s young artists. As Sørlandet’s largest retail bank, a core part of Sparebanken Sør’s vision is to contribute to growth and development in Agder – also in the field of culture. Through the prize, young talents have the opportunity to develop, present and share their artistic practice with the wider public.

The prize is awarded every second year, and based on the works presented in the exhibition, the winner receives 150,000 NOK. He or she is chosen by a jury consisting of representatives from art museums and the wider field of art in Norway, plus one representative from Sparebanken Sør.

In addition to the main prize, there is a Public’s Choice Prize consisting of 15,000 NOK.

Come and vote for your favourite!
